antithesis to our usual ideas about power &leadership. when ppl work 4 love, (haha, IS IT CLEAR I WENT TO A CHRISTIAN COLLEGE? "should" b!) the deceptive simplicity of a single bottom line. (public policy mostly can't fit in 1 tweet) non 4 profit clearly leading us to reach potential our culture so urgently needs 2b realized. search that moves many of us 2work 4love -is surely a matter of morality. (what do socials do2..?) substance over bureaucracy true substance : optimism &openness about life. implemented without fear. we look 4control rather than challenge(easier 2deal w commodities, than uniqueness). missed -all because they looked too much at assignment &too little at gifts of persons. in movements, stories give life; in organizations, stories manipulate . can't rewrite history job descriptions replace expectations : suffer. poets terminated, bureaucrats promoted.. movements degrade when rules dominate decision making. fact of life :we are sentenced to live w who we become. "with liberty &justice for all." -I ask myself: liberty to do what ? like any other virtue, freedom acquires heightened significance when constrained. to what end do we work ? "let my people go, so that they might serve me." people are responding to a calling. it is also a matter of the condition of our heart.s everything that comes out of the schools comes into society. the family is at risk. we suffer from an almost innocent &certainly mindless failure to understand significance of our loss when we don't aggressively nurture the family &hold it responsible. some unable to understand or unable to accept the obligations &duties of membership in a free society. honestly believe practice of victimization is their only road to authenticity. a serious threat =a real opportunity to serve. (LUV THAT MINDSET. make up yer mind). cope : growing ambiguity in values. v meanings of words change (assimilation to last). we all understand that our world has to change. how shall we change it ? what shall we measure what are we going to give up ? what are we going to abandon ? by asking, she did me great favor: gave me an opportunity2 lay out expectations. (clarity) what would grace enable us to be? (always forgiving /starting anew). 1. understand who we r. 2. define &communicate vision. 3. accept vision. (not agree w). nothing will strangle creative, honest communication faster, than agenda. don't come w/ to measure performance is to gauge a group's sense of urgency. leaders should be quite intolerant of the time it takes people to get certain things done. justice is high on most people's list of ideas that tell us the way life ought to be. (nice). remember, we r working primarily 4 love. Paul: u who r spiritual should restore. reweave leaders are walking &talking manuals of behavior. be very vulnerable, run the risk. behavior= highest form of expression. also happens to be most impressive. (show me !) 1. ppl in critical mass need to understand what's going on.2. need2accept what group has agreed to. 3. need to behave as advocates. (a mature community). do you K what the score is &that you could get fired ? prepared to live w consequences ? all of us do many things we don't agree with. by providing a language, way of speaking that allows dissent, disagreement, expression.. like 2K what's expected of me; w/ special emphasis on trust, which can't occur w/o truth people without vision constantly struggle to find hope. without view of reality, stumble moral purpose shared : safety on the streets is consequence of people keeping eye out to risk nothing is perhaps the greatest risk of all. most of time, we risk the future. risk for love. entail loss of control &acceptance of vulnerability.
