they crack up &realize that, oh yeah we can still banter. 
     "how are you ok with giving the gov a part of your paycheck you'll never see?" #ss

most people are super weirded out, but that's ok by me. a stranger with no intentions?! that'd kinda weird me out, too! actual boots on the ground, rob called it once.

we must meet the people where they are.

5 yrs residential / 10 yrs employment history - ya never think this stuff matters, ya know?

signs these days state characteristics employers are seeking in new hire, like "hard working." BAHA! nothing i detest more than redundancy, &yet, with an entitled generation brainwashed into thinking they are worth $15/hr, it serves employer best to set expectations right away. you're not better than fetchin' someone's covfefe for a year. 

just the other day, lady walks into office looking to make some easy dough off referral program we offer. (i should mention, this town has a serious drug problem &weekly junkies come in looking for freebies: A.C., bathroom, coffee /water machine). this 1 was creative: she walks in w/sunglasses on (1st clue) &skims brochures 4 opportunities.
welcome.. how can i help? 
hold on, /she doesn't look up, gives her pointer finger &eventually meanders over. suggests, under her breath (2nd clue) that I give her a referral code, that she'd give me a cut of her winnings. (i find it in my heart not to laugh in her face, but really, who does this? who thinks things are free? but, druggies have a will &they will find a way).
um, this is a professional environment. i don't need $20.
oh, so you'll do it for free? 
no. here in America, we help ourselves. 
stunned, the lady still in sunglasses hurls some expletives on her way out. 
have a nice day! my coworker says (to everybody leaving).
PISSED, she says, "no i won't!"

later, coworkers see her in the park, asking STRANGERS to partake in the program 4her. no shame. imagine if she worked this hard for a j-o-b. but townies will keep giving these people dollars &loose change &have them continue living day-to-day when they really need dignity, humble pie &a job that builds their character. at least think about it, lady. 


help wanted /i don't think she wants it, but we can pray that God keeps a knockin'.
